My Journey

Hi, I’m Alexandra.

Discovering new cultures, immersing myself in nature and exploring fascinating countries has always played a pivotal role in my life. Born and bred in Germany, I’ve never truly felt at home within four walls.

There’s always been a longing deep within me that craved more than routine, more than expectations, more than the conventional path.

And although I tried to stay true to my way of doing things, it often felt like an invisible force was holding me back. Not living boldly, but trying to fit in. Not challenging societal norms, but playing it safe. But deep down, once I had released all the layers of conditioning and trauma, my true essence appeared:

  • A free spirit.
  • An adventurer.
  • Someone who needs room to roam and lives life on her own terms.

A Life Shaped by Travel & Perspective

I’ve lived and worked in Sweden, Australia, eSwatini, the UK, and Kenya in different roles, each experience opened my mind and challenged my view of the world. What seems “normal” in Germany might be completely different in Australia, and even frowned upon in Kenya. It made me question: What is normal? And who decides what’s normal?

Living in different cultures and meeting people from all over the world made me realize one universal truth: No matter where we live or what nationality we are, all we want is love. We want to give love and be loved. We all have dreams and desires. And we all hold back because we’re trapped by subconscious beliefs that are shaped by culture, expectations, and trauma.

My Moment of Truth

A three-month drum and dance sabbatical in West Africa changed my life forever. At the time, I was working in Melbourne as a Corporate Communications Manager for the Asia Pacific Region at Siemens, a multinational corporation and a global leader in technology and innovation.

On paper, I had the career many dream of—high salary, global role, prestige. But deep down, I felt unfulfilled. It felt like I was living someone else’s life. So, I quit my high-paying corporate career and moved to eSwatini to do volunteering. But even that didn’t resonate. I was still searching for something that I couldn’t even define. Was it purpose? Direction? Passion? Happiness? A partner?

After another detour, I found myself working in the travel biz. And suddenly, I felt alive. Fun fact: At 16, I had only one career dream: to become a travel agent.

Travel – One Road of Many to Self-Discovery

Travel was a powerful part in my self-discovery journey. Not only did it help me find a career I love, it gave me the freedom to start my own travel biz, Wanderlust Africa, bringing me a step closer to one of my biggest values: FREEDOM.

What makes travel so powerful is that it takes you out of your usual environment, sometimes even out of your comfort zone, and instantly changes your perspective. When you step out of the familiar, your brain begins to think differently.

Yet, it wasn’t only travel. Journaling, Meditation, Mind-Body Integration, NLP, Human Design, Gene Keys, Ayahuasca, Shamanism, Shinrin Yoku, Nature Coaching, and deep introspection were all part of the process. All these experiences helped me face my fears, integrate my shadows, release my trauma, and embrace who I truly am. Travel was somehow the framework, but the inner work was mine to do.

The Truth about Self-Discovery

There is no quick fix or one-size-fits-all approach. So, if you’ve tried a “Six-step program to a happy life” and still feel unhinged, don’t be discouraged. The road to self-discovery is like Candy Crush: Each level that you complete takes you to the next level and a new challenge to conquer.

The journey is layered, personal, and unfolds in divine timing. It won’t happen in six steps, but it will happen. And I 100% believe that you can discover your true essence and feel whole.

From Wanderlust Africa to “Break Free. Explore the World. Reconnect.”

In 2020, the world stood still. When the pandemic brought my business to a screeching halt, I had to pause and reflect. It was an incredibly intense time in my life. Not only was my livelihood at stake, but it also seemed like travel was impossible for years.

Intuitively, I became certified in Nature Coaching, Forest Bathing, and Trauma-Sensitive Coaching. I realized that my journey wasn’t just about designing tailor-made safaris; it was about guiding others to explore themselves and reconnect with who they truly are. As travel was impacted for a couple of years, I thought I had to follow the coaching trend and go online. But that approach never felt right. Simply because we’re living in a world that is becoming increasingly digital.

Everything seems to be happening on or through a screen. We spend huge amounts of time indoors, glued to devices that distract us from reality. The result? We feel more and more disconnected—disconnected from others, from nature, and from ourselves. And I crave real, personal connection. Connection with nature. Connection with the world around us.

My new offerings are aligned with who I am and, at the same time, honor the powerful combination of

  • Stepping away from home
  • Absorbing the healing power of nature
  • Exploring your inner world with someone who holds a safe and nurturing space.

Why Travel with Me?

  • I don’t believe in travel just to tick off the “Best of.”
  • I don’t believe in taking selfies at the most “Instagrammable” spots.
  • I believe in slowing down.
  • I believe in escaping the daily grind.
  • I believe in disconnecting from the hustle and bustle to truly reconnect.
  • I believe in immersing yourself in nature.
  • I believe in travel to arrive at the most beautiful destination in the world: Yourself.

These beliefs are reflected in everything I offer.

It’s all about: Breaking free. Exploring the world. Reconnecting with yourself.

Are you ready to break free?

Love,

Alexandra

I’m ready to change my life!
